IETOS Annual Meeting
Written by Jim Henry
Thursday, 05 February 2009
IETOS will hold its annual meeting at the California Theatre in San Bernardino, California, home of the last remaining original installation of a Style 216 Wurlitzer. The date is Sunday, February 15 at 2pm. Contact IETOS treasurer High Poole via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested in attending.

There will be a demonstration of the organ by Bob Salisbury and there may be an opportunity to see the main chamber. After the meeting, there will be an open house at the site of the IETOS Style 150 Wurlitzer installation. While the 150 is still being installed, the solo manual should be playable for those who would like to try playing a real Wurlitzer.

The Inland Empire Theatre Organ Society (IETOS) is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of theatre pipe organs. Unlike their stuffy cousins, theatre organs are born entertainers. They were the voice of the silent films and leaders of the community sing along. While most theatre organs are now 80 years old or more, many continue to merrily belt out tunes to delight modern audiences. Write to us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   for information about becoming involved with IETOS and the theatre organs of Southern California's Inland Empire.
